About Lucele Coutts

As the youngest in a family of free thinkers and seekers, I feasted on ideas from many minds and cultures such as Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, Ernest Holmes, Swami Yogananda, and Henry Standing Bear. And as an avid reader I was fed also by Eric Butterworth, Marcus Bach, Kahlil Gibran, Joseph Marshall III and many more, but it was Deepak Chopra, who struck a note in my visual and scientific mind that helped me to see that I might be influenced by many, but I was the only one who could make those ideas work in my life, because I am the only one responsible for my life through my own thoughts, words and actions. So when Cheryl Khalid from UCC's Leadership Team gave me the opportunity to help others make their lives better, I welcomed it. And now I find myself serving even more seekers who find this website through the magic of the internet.

Why call affirmations "commitments"?

The dictionary describes an affirmation as a positive statement, which is fine, but a commitment is a pledge or a promise to act on that positive statement. Since these statements are intended to make your lives better, they can't be just read and laid aside, forgotten until another comes in a week, we must commit to do something about them.

Originally these commitments were printed on small slips of paper easily carried during the day, in order to glance at them often, maybe even parts memorized by week's end. And it soon became a joyful time for me to learn that my commitments were helping. But it was even more wonderful to learn about the ingenious places people put them--on the car or truck dashboard, because they spent most of the day driving, or tucked in a shirt pocket, a purse, or beside the work computer, even in a busy lady's bra, who is often on the move in her office.

So I ask you to copy or print these pages, and place the commitment where you can see and read it often, in order to really think about how the words can make your life better.

TIP: Remember--the past is gone, so let it go, and though the future is unknown, if you change your life for the better in each
NOW moment, it can get better.

In a NOW moment? Is that enough time? Yes, it definitely is!
Do you remember when the phrase "Do you hear me now?" became a household word? It did, because an advertiser was willing to pay thousands of dollars for 15 or 30
NOW moments or seconds on TV to convince viewers to buy the company product.

And you can do even more, because you have 86,400
NOW moments in every 24 hour day to convince yourself to make your life better, and every one of your NOW moments is completely FREE and always ready for you to use.
